A Non-Slip Metal Surface Technology

The Problem

In a food-grade environment, sanitary and slip-resistant surfaces are essential. The conditions in these environments are consistently wet and humid, and surfaces are primarily constructed of stainless steel and other non-corrosive alloys. This environment creates a high risk for slip and fall hazards. Many chemicals and acids are commonly used, making it a highly volatile environment.

The Solution

Ramcoat is a slip-resistant surface coating that can be applied to a variety of metal structures like stair treads, floorboards, trench covers, ladder rungs, drain covers, floor scales, and platforms. This coating is durable and long-lasting, making it ideal anywhere a non-corrosive and hygienic surface is essential. Ramcoat's slip-resistant surface helps prevent workplace accidents and injuries, providing employees with a safe and secure environment to work in. A good non-slip surface reduces employee fatigue and increases performance.

How It's Applied

Ramcoat non-slip metal surface technology is a multi-process application that modifies the stainless steel substrate and adds a rough slip-resistant coating. This process creates a very high bond strength exceeding 7,000 psi.

This process results in a stainless steel coating that is harder, stronger, and protects the substrate. Additionally, the coating provides anti-corrosive properties, has a long product life, and most importantly, creates a non-slip finish.

Where It's Applied

The Ramcoat non-slip metal surface technology can be applied to walkways, catwalks, stair treads, gratings, and anywhere a permanent traction surface is needed. The technology can be applied to either structural or removable members.

The Ramcoat non-slip metal surface technology does not impede field or future modifications, as it can be easily cut, formed, and welded using standard procedures.

We’ve got answers.

  • Ramcoat is a stainless steel slip resistant metal technology that is applied to a metal substrate to create a long-lasting, sanitary, non-slip, and non-corrosive coating for walking and working.

  • Ramcoat is used by companies for two reasons: to add slip-resistant coating to new projects like mezzanines, platforms, stairways, etc. or to upgrade their existing floor from diamond plate or fibergrate to Ramcoat to prevent a slip or fall accident.

  • Yes, our coating is easy to clean and is resistant to corrosion in food-grade environments.

  • Yes, the coating can withstand high pressure washing and very corrosive environments, including highly corrosive acids that are used in food grade facilities for cleaning and areas of extreme heat and moisture.

  • Ramcoat is competitive in pricing with all other slip-resistant applications, and the product goes above and beyond other applications as it lasts longer, is more slip-resistant, and is easier to clean.
